Casa Eclipse
Located on the beach of Playa Blanca in Zihuatanejo, Casa Eclipse blends contemporary architecture with vernacular materials in a dialogue with its coastal context. The residence is composed of three structures, with the main volume centered around a sculptural helical staircase crowned by a radial dome. This dome filters light to project a glowing ring on the floor, evoking a solar eclipse and inspiring the house’s name. The open-plan ground floor connects directly to the ocean-facing façade, while the upper level features three bedrooms with panoramic views. A study, guest room, and social spaces enhance flexibility. Complementary service structures and a cascading water wall enrich the sensory approach. Material honesty defines the design: exposed concrete, sand-colored chukum, wood, and matte black steel create warmth and balance. Casa Eclipse offers a refined, peaceful retreat where architecture and nature coexist in harmony.
