Founded in Zihuatanejo in 1986 by architect Enrique Zozaya, ZAR is a multigenerational studio devoted to designing architecture rooted in place, purpose, and emotion. With over three decades of experience on Mexico’s Pacific coast, we specialize in homes and hospitality projects that reflect the rhythm of tropical living—where nature is not a backdrop but an essential material.

Our work blends vernacular wisdom with contemporary clarity, honoring the region’s landscapes, craftsmanship, and climate. From oceanfront residences to hillside retreats, we design spaces that are timeless yet intimately tied to their environment.

Led today by Daniel Zozaya, the studio continues to evolve, building on a legacy of detail-driven design, construction excellence, and a deep respect for the land. Every project is a collaboration—not just with our clients, but with local artisans, materials, and ecosystems.
